Palliative Care Specialist

Hospice North Shore offers a specialist palliative care service, that is well established and integrated into the local community. Good professional relationships exist with North Shore Hospital, local General Practitioners and other service providers.

We require a full-time Palliative Care Specialist to work in our Medical team.

The appointee will:

• Provide support and advice to the Nursing and Family Support teams in the In-Patient Unit and Community
• Ensure patients and their families are appropriately informed of their treatment options and empowered to make decisions affecting their care.
• Be available as a consultant to hospice patients in the community and provide advice to General Practitioners and other Medical Professionals.
• Liaise with other medical providers to ensure continuity of care both while in the IPU and during admission and discharge.
• Provide supervision to registrars and Medical Officers in the IPU and in the Community
