Rod manages the team. He is an experienced palliative medicine specialist with experience in both UK and New Zealand. He provides oversight for the education programme, the quality programme and is building research capacity at Hospice North Shore. He currently supervises 8 PhD students and has involvement in a number of other research initiatives. He works with colleagues at the University of Auckland, AUT University and the University of Alberta Canada. The aim of the research programme is to improve our understanding of many aspects of end of life care for New Zealanders with the hope that we can improve the way that we care for people near the end of life and their families. |

Sandra is the palliative care education and training co ordinator at Hospice North Shore. She has responsibility to support the hospice team with education and training. She also has a staff coaching role (Nursing) and enjoys working with the clinicians at operational and leadership level.

Claire’s role is concerned with the Palliative Care education needs of health care professionals in the community. She builds relationships with the community providers of generalist Palliative Care and promotes strong links between them and the Hospice clinical teams. |

Tina’s main focus is to provide support and advocacy for our Maori patients and their whanau. She aims to demystify the support that Hospice provides within the local Maori community, as well as to share learning opportunities with Hospice North Shore staff about Te Ao Maori – The Maori World View. |

Jennys role involves working with staff to promote continuous quality achievement and performance improvement in all areas of the Hospice. She is the lead for ensuring the hospice complies with the Health & Disability Services Certification Audit, and facilitating staff to audit and review practices that reflect the Hospices Mission. |
