Kiwi philanthropists and world bike adventurers, Jo and Gareth Morgan once again came to town to present their eclectic mix of adventure travel tales, frank commentary on the state of the economy and to talk about Gareth’s latest book, Poles Apart - presenting both sides of the scientific debate on climate change.

Gareth’s straight-shooting presentation was in some parts alarming. He gave a broad prediction on the recession including his thoughts on house prices and long term trends. Mike Franklin, CEO of North Shore Hospice attended the event and found Gareth’s talk particularly interesting. “Overall it was a good evening, easily understood in a logical and accessible format spattered with Gareth Morgan’s dry wit and unconventional brand of humour”

The Bruce Mason Centre provided an ideal venue for over 700 people who attended the event on Tuesday, 16th June and, together with proceeds from ticket sales, the tremendous generosity of the Bruce Mason Centre, Ticketmaster and The Book Lover (who donated 10% commission from the book sales on the night) $10,000 was raised.
