Hospice Launches "The GAP" project

In conjunction with World Hospice Day in October 2009, North Shore Hospice and North Shore City Council Environmental Care Department launched the first Hospice 'Gap' (Goods Acquisition Project) scheme, named by the Council staff as their "Bring it on Day".

In the months leading up to the event the 220 Environmental staff were encouraged to seek out those unwanted gifts and goods and to bring them to work for the "Bring it on Day". This resulted in a great array of top quality clothing and goods for our retail shops and warehouse. Thank you Angela Lemanis, Warwick Jaine and all who particiapted.

We are hoping that this will be the first of many GAP projects held throughout the North Shore business sector. It is an easy way to work together and encourage employees to get involved with supporting their community – it takes very little time, there are no costs and it is a great way to recycle unwanted goods to stock our shops and raise funds to care for our patients.
