North Shore Hospice – Physiotherapist

North Shore Hospice provides free community palliative care services to people living with a terminal illness in North Shore City and Rodney District and acts as a Specialist Centre for Palliative care for the entire Waitemata District Health Board area.

Earlier this year we explored the possibility of developing a physiotherapy service for our In-patients and Community Palliative Care patients. Following the successful scoping of this service we are looking to appoint a permanent physiotherapist to our multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses and counsellors

You will be a NZ registered Physiotherapist with a current Practising Certificate. An interest in Oncology and Palliative Care is desirable. A strong focus on patient-centred care in a supportive team environment will ensure your success in this role.

The hours of work will be 24 per week spread over 4 days.

Community Palliative Care Registered Nurse

Are you able to work rostered daytime duties plus some on-call hours caring for and supporting families and patients in their homes? Do you want to work in a supportive team environment, where there is a strong focus on patients and families? Ideally, the successful applicants will have experience in either community or palliative care settings. However, if you have a burning desire to work in palliative care, we give consideration to candidates who demonstrate an ability to work autonomously, make decisions under pressure and are resilient in the face of unpredictable and challenging circumstances.

In-Patient Unit Nurse

Are you looking for the chance to experience 'Nursing as Nursing should be'? Our high staff:patient ratios allow you to provide the quality of professional care that you want to give, with time to attend to the extras for patients that make all the difference. We currently have vacancies for Registered Nurses to work rostered and relief duties in our 14 bed in-patient unit. Experience in palliative care, whilst advantageous is not essential as a comprehensive orientation and training package is provided with on-going support to assist with professional development. We welcome applications from new graduates who have a desire to develop their career in palliative care.

Medical Team Leader

North Shore Hospice Trust

We require a dynamic and innovative senior clinician for this new post, developed to enhance North Shore Hospice’s role as the Specialist Palliative Care Services Provider and to promote the realisation of the North Shore Hospice Trust’s vision of becoming a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for palliative care within the Waitemata District Health Board.

The post is full-time or minimum of 0.8 FTE, combining leading & managing our small medical team and developing our clinical quality programme while also providing senior medical expertise and appropriate medical support to our Inpatient and Community teams. Some on call is expected. Salary as per ASMS and will be commensurate with experience.
